Autumn harvest season has always felt like my personal New Year. Other seasons don’t imbue me with the spark that I get when Fall is on its way.
I’m not a Fall lover to the extent of getting overly excited about throwing on cozy oversized sweaters with leggings and a pumpkin spice latte in tow. I traded all of that for year-round sunshine. Though, I have been tempted to place some kind of gourd arrangement in my front yard.
For gardeners, Fall is a time to amend what’s weak or needing reinforcement and to remove what no longer serves in preparation for future growth. I already sowed the seeds of the crops I plan to harvest this Fall, and now my focus is on preparing for the first frost.
